NHS Exposé:
Patient A

We have access to an Ehlers-Danlos patient’s medical files, including:
  • Outpatient letters and clinic notes
  • Inpatient ward observation charts and notes
  • MRI and CT scan images and reports
  • Risk Assessment
  • Blood test results
  • Covertly recorded meeting with the Trust's Medical Director
And we going to pinpoint all the errors, negligence, law breaks, and put them online.
Patient A
The Stripey (person with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or a Hypermobility Disorder), who we are calling Patient A, also provided a covert recording of a meeting she had with her NHS Trust’s Medical Director.

The recording includes time where NHS staff attending the meeting had left the room, and the Director thought he was speaking off the record. We believe it is in the Public's Interest to hear that recording and view the errors in these medical records - whether you have any kind of illness or not

The NHS Trust in question is refusing to release their transcript of the meeting to Patient A, despite them promising they would supply it.

If you live in the UK, you will use the NHS at least once in your life and some of types the mistakes could be in your records and effect your care too.

We have combed the paperwork with Patient A, and identified a litany of medical and administrative errors - including breaches of General Medical Council Guidelines.

And we’re going to expose it all.

We're giving writers,
bloggers and activists
within the Illness community access to these medical files AND the recording...

Exclusive All-Area Access

We want to give writers, bloggers and activists within the Invisible Illness community access to these medical files.

We also want to give writers access to the recording and the official NHS transcript taken during it (IF the Trust finally agree to release it), before opening it up to the mainstream Press.
We are also offering the chance to submit questions or email interviews to Patient A (via YouSeeUs) before anyone else has the chance to get anything online.

For those of you who want to share the story and be part of the #ysuNetwork without writing your own features, making memes, videos or audio clips, we will be making our own material that you can then include on your website, blog and other social media under your group or project’s name.

We are a not-for-profit project. There will be no fee for accessing this wealth of information if you are a small, independent blogger, website, group or organisation. However, there are some terms and conditions.

For early and exclusive access to paperwork and the recording, and the chance to submit questions or email interviews, you must be part of the #ysuNetwork.

#ysuNetwork Only

We’ve explained more about the #ysuNetwork in a separate feature, so have a look at that for details.

To get early and exclusive access to Patient A’s paperwork, the recording and the chance to submit questions or email interviews, you must be part of the #ysuNetwork.
This simply means:
  • Having a member in #ysuTribe Undercover, our closed Facebook group.
  • Placing a specific banner/slogan on the social media carrying any and all material you produce from the information you access.
  • Using certain hashtags related specifically to this NHS Exposé - Patient A.
  • Other conditions also apply, but there are no financial charges.
Email media@youseus.org [subject: PATIENT A] to register your interest.

Due to the sheer volume of material, it will be released in a serialised manner.  Many of the mistakes and attitudes in Patients A’s medical documents will be very familiar to you, as so many of us within the EDS/HSD and Invisible Illness community endure and suffer the same issues on a grand scale every single day.

This is why we’re bringing this to you.

We’re really hoping that by sharing, communicating and co-ordinating the material we all produce, we can build a big buzz around this particular story and start shedding a wider, brighter spotlight on the ignorance and Institutional Abuse that is ruining and costing too many or our lives.

together we can prove Ignorance Is No Excuse - and put an end to Institutional Abuse.
